We made it home, not without some bumps along the way. Maura's blood sugars were good all day and she was so chipper and ready to go. We noticed such a difference now that we are regulating her sugars. I can look back and see how she has not been herself at all. She fell asleep on the way to pick up our big van at Dad's office and when she woke up was back to the weepy, crabby and whiny sleepy behavior. We checked at the office and it was very high. So then we had to figure out what to do about it, give her insulin with no meal? Or wait to give her insulin with dinner? Luckily we have a wonderful pediatric endocrinologist and we can call the office anytime. So we did and figured out what to do. Picked up a healthy dinner, headed home and went through the ordeal of her insulin shot. She is being better about her finger sticks. Her level was still high tonight at bedtime but she was a little more still while we did her shots. So I hope that is a tiny bit of progress. She stayed mad for less time too. :)
So, we hope to go to bed soon. And we are praying for better blood sugars tomorrow.
